About the Event
In recognition of the change of the seasons, the coming of winter and the patterns of the plants, this month join us as we celebrate our most fundamental medicines, our roots. Roots do a lot for us - and not just for us, but for the earth and the plants themselves. Using root medicine is a special practice, and understanding how to gather, prepare, utilize and formulate them is one key to unlocking their magic. But there is indeed something else there - there is an aspect of roots that nourishes the soul and creates a steady platform for all other botanical work that might come after. Therefore, making allies with these herbs is fundamentally intertwined with a holistic practice of herbalism overall.
Join us back at the Skä•noñh Great Law of Peace Center this month to delve into this most foundational of work. We will discuss botanical principles of roots, how to prepare and gather them, have some samplings and of course go over materia medica. As usual, you can join class in person (there is a class cap of 20, so please save your spot early!), on Zoom, or just purchase a recording. Everyone who joins class through any means will be sent a copy of the recording, so no need to buy that separate. Please note that the cost of class has increased back up to $15 for all participants, to help cover time and costs. 25% of all proceeds goes back to the center to support their incredible work in our community.
We can't wait to see everyone there - bring a notebook, questions and all your herbal wisdom :)
