syracuse herbal study group

founded in 2018, Syracuse Herbal Study Group is dedicated to offering an affordable, accessible and reliable education in plant medicine while building community across cultures and enhancing the well-being of our CNY neighborhoods through mutual aid initiatives. In addition, we aim to create a platform for ongoing work towards the conservation of native plant species while strengthening the human relationship with the natural world. We are proud to partner with the Skä•noñh - Great Law of Peace Center in Liverpool, NY and the Onondaga Nation in our work. Find out more info here.

On the docket for Fall 2026, watch for the release of my first book, The Herbal Diagnostic Handbook, from Storey Publishing. A symptom-based approach to using botanicals, this comprehensive reference is designed for home herbalists, clinical practitioners and medical providers who may be new to the word of Western herbalism.

botanical medicine training program

With sponsorship by the Department of Medicine at SUNY Upstate, I am working on developing curriculum for a 12-month long training course for medical providers in Traditional Western Herbalism and its applications to modern medical practice. The program will be open to MDs, DOs, PAs, NPs, NDs, CNMs and CMs (as well as students in any of these professions) and will blend virtual learning with clinical rotations and hands-on experiences.  More information to come in the new year.
