About the Event
Welcome back for the third plant walk of our 2022 season!
Guys, this is my favorite walk. We often think of herbs as being something sacred that is up on a pedestal of pristine forests and not tenable if we live in an apartment in the city. And while plants are indeed sacred, the rest couldn't be further from the truth. Some of the best medicine we have is right under our feet in the yards, sidewalks, curbs and waste places of the city. You'll never look at your neighborhood the same again!
Come join us as we discuss common plants that make up the backbone of Western traditional herbalism such as dandelion, plantain, mullein and mugwort. As usual we will discuss botany, plant ID, materia medica and medicine making.
Masks are optional at this outdoor event, but as new variants of Omicron spread, we will be enforcing social distancing. Bring a notebook, your stories, experiences and wisdom. See you there!
As always, plant walks are free to the public. To find us at the walk, we will be meeting at the corner of Yale Ave and Hillside Ave.
