SHSG Jan 2021: Using Essential Oils

Hello everyone and Happy New Year! For our first class of the 2021, I am so excited and honored to welcome Amanda Wells, who will be leading us through the safe & successful use of essential oils as medicine.

Amanda is a 2011 graduate of Aromahead Institute, a massage therapist, medicine maker and an experienced herbalist. In this class, she will review with us what essential oils are and how they work - this will include an up-close look at how volatile oils act in the brain and how they are metabolized in the body. As well as discussing indications for use, we will also focus on essential oil safety, including how to dilute essential oils for different pathways, contraindications for specific populations, phototoxicity, sensitization, shelf life, possible drug interactions, and sustainability.

Class is $10, I will be sending out emails with all needed handouts, PPTs and/or links before class on 1/19, and that email will also include the Zoom link so that you can join class live. If you are unable to join the live class but are interested in attending, please RSVP anyway! Send us an email at syracusehsg@gmail.com after you buy your ticket and let us know you would like the class recording to be emailed to you. You will still get all handouts and files, and can view the recorded class at your leisure.
