About the Event
Welcome back for our July 2022 Plant Walk!
This month we are really excited to take walkers through the community gardens in the Radisson community in Baldwinsville. Here we will discuss both cultivated and wild plants, as the July sun provides the perfect opportunity to start our conversation about Summer wildflowers and get an up close look at hard-to-find-in-the-wild medicinals. As always, we will chat about botany, plant ID, medicinal uses and formulation. Come join us for this unique and one of a kind opportunity!
Just a note for those who joined us on the Radisson garden walk in 2020: we will be seeing a completely different panel of medicinal plants this year, including Angelica, Nettle, Elecampane and Bugleweed, just to name a few. This is not the same walk, and I urge and welcome past participants to join us again this year!
Masks are optional at this outdoor event. We welcome participants to wear masks if they feel more comfortable doing so, and social distancing is encouraged. Please come prepared for grassy terrain in the Northeast: long pants and closed toed shoes are encouraged as we continue to protect ourselves from ticks. Bring a notebook, your stories and your knowledge to share!
To find us: the Radisson community gardens are located on Drake's Landing Road in Baldwinsville, between Field's End Drive and Glacier Ridge Road. You will see a clearing between these two intersecting roads, and you will see the mesh fencing on the garden plots and a walking path near the road with a covered garbage bin along the path. There is also a park next door to the gardens, but this is not where we are meeting. If you have any trouble finding us, email email@example.com or shoot Lauren Eadline a facebook message and we will help you find your way.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
