About the Event
Plant walk season is finally here!
I am pleased to announce that our first walk of 2021 will be held at Spruce Pond in Fabius. We like to start out the season in the woods, not only since woodland natives peak earlier than plants elsewhere, but because the magic of the forest, especially at Spruce Pond, sets the tone for future walks together.
Please join us as we explore several endangered medicinal species, review how to ID them in the wild and how to use them for health and healing. While we will also review formulation, keep in mind that most of the plants we will be visiting with on Saturday are overharvested and should not be gathered in the wild.
Bring your guidebooks, notebooks and books (it might be a bit muddy), as well as your stories, experiences and questions. Plant walks are free, no RSVP needed and are open to all experience levels :)
To find using GPS, please use "Spruce Pond" on Herlihy Road in Tully, NY as your location. The road becomes a dirt road when you are getting close, and you will go by multiple camp sites and state park indicators. There is a small parking lot right in front of the pond, and this is where we will meet. There is very limited cell service.
Can't wait to see everyone!
