About the Event
Welcome to the first plant walk of the 2024 season! Im really excited to announce a collaboration this month between our group and the Syracuse Urban Food Forest, which is a project between SUNY ESF and Syracuse University.
Beyond just promoting and nurturing wild food, the folks at the food forest also work to restore local habitats, promote the health of native species and collaborate with indigenous communities and leaders. This month, we will be walking at their space at Elmwood Park, and while I can't wait to check out the medicinals growing there and share knowledge about plant uses, medicine making and botany, they will also be looking to us for input on what medicinals to plant and grow to optimize the health of the local ecosystem.
