SHSG Nov 2021: St. John's wort
Time & Location
About the Event
The best way to learn the herbs is to study the, ally with them and experience them, one plant at a time.
In that vein, we will continue the tradition of holding various classes throughout the year that focus on in-depth study of one plant. This month, our discussion will on that wonderful nervine, St. John's Wort.
St John's Wort is a widely known and widely used herb in our modern Western apothecary. But there is a lot more to this plant than the supplements in the pharmacy aisle being marketed for depression. Join us to look at the history, energetics, modern applications and magic of this powerful remedy. In addition, we will discuss medicine making, recipes and taste samples.
Some notes about COVID-19 precautions: as of right now, we will be continuing in person classes as well as offering a "Zoom in Live" distance option or the option to buy the class recording if your schedule does not allow you to join us live. Please keep in mind that masks are required for all in-person participants regardless of vaccination status. If you are having COVID symptoms at the time of class, please let me know and I will be happy to refund your ticket. We have a class cap of 10 people to maintain appropriate distancing.
When you register, please specify how you plan on attending class. Classes are $10, and we are going to have tea available so please bring a mug if you would like a hot drink during our discussion. We will NOT have mugs available to share. Use the link below to register - hope to see everyone there!
